About Us
Elizabeth J. Murphy, CPA is the conservative force. She received her CPA in 1978 while raising four children after working for over 20 years in public accounting and investing. Her experience covers businesses from construction through retail in a variety of different sectors. Her passion and avocation has always been the stock market, and Elizabeth also provides financial advisory, brokerage and insurance services as a registered representative of Terra Securities Corporation, a division of Genworth Financial Services Inc.

Sharon Murphy Karpierz, CPA is more progressive. Her responsibilities include keeping Murphy, Murphy & Assoc. current on all technology, balancing resistance to change against the advantages of modern technology. Elizabeth's daughter, Sharon received her CPA in 2000 after ten years of working with her mother. She is taking over more of the compliance work while Elizabeth expands her financial planning services. Sharon is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

When you call, the first voice you will likely hear will belong to Beth Finley. Don't let the sweet southern drawl fool you: she's been in Chicago for years. Beth is our girl Friday. From receptionist to bookkeeper, whatever we ask her to accomplish, she does it with a smile.

Gayle Hoag is our newest employee. She joined our firm and quickly took over the month-to-month bookkeeping for several of our clients. Gayle is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and manages a stable of clients using QuickBooks, as well as handling our payroll processing.

Diana Snell retired three years ago, but we won't let her go. Diana works remotely from home using scanned documents, hosted applications, and electronic faxes to receive and send information. She really appreciates the technological advances in our office, so she can spend winters at the beach in North Caroline and still keep up on her work.
